The peat in this whisky accord hits hard right from the first spray, like a smoky dram you can almost taste. It's bold and unapologetic, and the raw mate underneath keeps it grounded without going bitter. I've worn it three days straight and keep catching myself sniffing my own arm.
The raw mate note gives it an earthy, almost bitter edge that balances the whisky’s smoky sweetness perfectly. I’ve worn it on cold evenings and it lasts hours without turning cloying, which is rare for something this intense.
The peat hits hard and fast, like cold smoke in a glass, but the maté underneath keeps it grounded and strangely fresh. I’ve worn it for a week and the dry-down stays interesting for hours without turning syrupy. Duchaufour really nailed that vertical whisky feel.
